CARRIERES
VILLAGE - 2005
In 2005, FSCO began to direct its attention to the
slum villages near the capital city of Abidjan. A large percentage of the inhabitants are war refugees. Many had to flee the northern and
western regions of Ivory Coast. Most lost everything they owned when they ran for their lives and are now living from day to day in these
makeshift villages.

Between
3 and 5 tons of rice have been distributed by FSCO at the Carrieres village annually since 2005
FSCO has been helping these populations with food
distribution and by supplying medicine to the group of doctors from the G.B.H-C.I. (Groupe Biblique des Hopitaux de Cote
d’Ivoire).

Much
needed medical care is provided by the FSCO sponsored CBH-CI doctors and nurses. Medicine for the
occasional clinics is provided by FSCO, but much more is needed for this village and others in the region.
